Christchurch's Permanent Commemoration of the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II
We are very grateful to Christchurch Rotary for once again mounting this series of events.
Great and good work done! Have you picked up a programme yet, people of Christchurch?
Thank you very much to Christchurch Charitable Trust for so generously sponsoring the evening.
We can now plan events of our own at Druitt Hall - talks, friendship meetings and more - watch this space!
And 'thank you' too, Baccello from our High Street for the provision of refreshments
The entertainment for the evening was energetically provided by JitterbugJive - who got everyone there involved in a group dance routine!
Dance lessons are available (some of us need practice!)
See their website for details - here http://www.jitterbugjive.co.uk/performances.html
Druitt Hall is available for hire by groups and by individuals.
We favour hire to community groups, charities and family occasions, but commercial hires are also taken to support our work.
Once a hire is confirmed by us, the facility is reserved for the hirer's use as a private hire.

Your hire period MUST include the time you need for your set up AND for your clearing away.
Hirers on the premises outside of the time reserved will be liable to additional charges AND, more importantly, may:
For the full conditions of hire refer to our To Hire section.
When requesting a booking, you will confirm having read and accepted these terms.
Bookings and billing services are handled via the HallMaster system.

The Trustees have maintained hire charges for existing long-term hirers for 2 years now but, as you will know well, costs have climbed throughout that time. After a review (22/11/24) the decision was reached to harmonise these rates with those charged to new hirers and this will be applied from 1st February 2025.
Through the efforts of DHCA's volunteers and with your support, 2024 is another successful year with average weekly lettings at approx 32.5hrs: a
footfall of around 18,000 persons over the year.
Time freely given by our various volunteers allows us to set hire rates that are substantially below a true commercial cost while being
without subsidy from the public purse. We do pay only a 'peppercorn rent' to Christchurch Town Council but our true rent is the cost of maintaining
and improving the building.
The process of providing the promised extended lease to DHCA is now in its 4th year, but some real progress has been made in recent
months - although a draft lease has now been with the Council's solicitors for 7 weeks.
An improved and more positive approach has resulted from the appointment of Town Councillors Stuart Perry and Mike Cox to liaise with us.
We understand that the terms of the lease will be essentially those proposed by DHCA (contrary to a recent press report).
Issue of the lease will allow us to move forward in seeking funding for further improvements to this much-loved facility. We look forward to receiving
the Council's solicitors' comments on the document.
Here are some recent photos showing how lovely the hall now looks. Come and see for yourself!
A short video showing the condition of the hall in 2012, before DHCA took on the lease, can be viewed on our History (Druitt Hall) page.
More video and photos are slowly being added to show exterior and interior conditions from 2013 onward, recording work on the extensive improvements carried out since then.
A more-recent video about a visit to Druitt Gardens (pre-dating work to the windows and cladding) can be found on very website here under Location.
H&S Information for operational and maintenance purposes and for works proposed or in progress is available here.
